Konstantinos Ε. Gogos

Professor Konstantinos Ε. Gogos was born in Thessaloniki in 1969 and has graduated from the Law School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki in 1991. Postgraduate studies at the Law School of Hannover University (Germany, Magister Legum Europae in 1994); PhD Degree in public law from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. E. Schmidt-Aßmann with a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) (1996). Elected as lecturer in Administrative Law at the Law School of Aristotle University in Mai 2001. Subsequently elected as assistant professor (November 2006), associate professor (January 2013) and full professor (July 2017) at the same Law School and in the same subject matter.

Fluent in English and German, has a good command of French. Attorney at Law of the Thessaloniki Bar Association since 1994, accredited with the Greek Supreme Courts, managing partner of the law firm Konstantinos Gogos & Associates, with extensive litigation experience in the field of public law.

Researcher at the Centre for International and European Economic Law in Thessaloniki for 5 years (1997-2002). Member of the editing committee of the “Commentary of the Treaties for the European Community and the European Union” by Prof. Dr. V. Skouris. Legal expert in European Twinning Projects in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus between 2000 and 2005. In the summers 2013, 2014 and 2015 Visiting Professor at the Summer Law School of the Baltic Federal University “Immanuel Kant” (KBFU) at Kaliningrad (Russian Federation).

He has served as President of the Legal Committee of the Aristotle University (2017-2019) and has been a member of the Dean’s Council of the Law School (2013 -2015).

He was a member of the National Committee “Natura 2000” at the Ministry of Environment (2010-2013), of the Law Commission for the Rationalisation of the Greek Administrative Justice (2010) and of the National Council for Administrative Reform (2009).

Member of the Scientific Board of the German environmental law Review EurUP (Zeitschrift für Europäisches Umweltrecht und Politik), of the scientific society “Nomos kai Physi” (“Law and Nature”) and associate member of the Board of the Scientific Society of Town Planning Law (secretary general between 2010 and 2014).

He has authored 6 books and published a significant number of papers on administrative law, administrative litigation, European Union law, environmental and town planning law. He is an editor in seven collective volumes.
