Council of State decision 917/2021 (Plenum)

Council of State decision 917/2021 (Plenum) rejected the application for annulment of a decision of the Hellenic Competition Commission, which decided the removal of the applicant from the office of the Director General due to lack of independence, given that the applicant had worked in the political chambers of the Deputy Minister of Interior within the preceding 5-year period. The Court found that the attacked decision did not contravene the rules of EU-directive 2019/1 on the independence of national Competition Authorities.
